The pandemic scourge ravaging the entire world at the moment has brought down virtually all economic and social activities to its knee. Already, most public and private business premises are witnessing low patronage, even as all schools in the area have been shut down indefinitely.

Sectors with an exception are those in transport, banking and food stuff, as they record fewer complaints in their patronage unlike their counterparts in other areas of the economy.

Speaking to The Triumph, a banker, who simply gave his name as Paul, said, bank management has adopted series of preventive and protective measures geared toward safe-guarding the customers.

Those approaches adopted so far, he said, ranged from the provision of sanitizer to nose-masks for the teeming customers who were not allowed into the bank hall with more than five people at a time.

Speaking further, Mr. Paul explained that most of the banks have rationalised their staff into shifts as those who report for work today, would not report tomorrow.

He frowned at the attitudes of some elites in the nation, whom he accused of importing the virus into the country even thought they have no any tangible engagement abroad, just because they have excessive careless cash to spend, he alleged.

Following the directive of the state government, that all transport services would be grounded by today, particularly those coming into the state, there have been serious panic stricken travellers in Sabon Gari area, especially, the business group.

The Secretary–General of Association of Luxury Bus Owners of Nigeria, Kano State branch, Mr. Godson Nwokoma, said that the association has embarked on many measures geared towards safe guarding the life of its passengers.

He said the measures adopted so far included provision of sanitizers and total ban on carrying over-load known as (attachment).

He called on all members and travelers to fully cooperate with the government to overcome the pandemic scourge threatening the entire fabric of human race.

Acording to Chief David Onwere a traditional ruler and Kano based Spare Parts Dealer, Corona Virus remains an epidemic disease all over the world, saying that nobody is talking about its origin, adding however that this is clear indication of its beginning from Asia, which all the countries in the world have come together to control its spread.

He commended the Federal Government for prompt action against the disease since detecting it in the country through an Italian nationalist.


At Na’ibawa Motor Park, One Auwalu Sani Yankatsari, said passengers were provided with sanitisers to wash their hands before they enter the park, adding that the same happened to those who going out of the park.
