Hit-and-run driver kills NDLEA staff in Jigawa

A hit-and-run driver has knocked down an officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Jigawa State Command.

A press release signed by Mr. Ankeli Adah, the State Public Relations Officer of the Command made available to The Triumph stated that the officer died on the spot.

According to the statement, the deceased officer was killed at an NDLEA check-point during a motorized patrol along Beguwa-Ringim road in Jigawa state at about 18.30hours of October 29th, 2018.

The late officer, Mr. Ogbonnowe Emmanuel Oluwanifemi was until his sudden demise, attached to Ringim Area Command of the NDLEA.

However, the spokesman of the Command said they will work round the clock to fish out the hit-and-run driver.

Meanwhile, the Jigawa state government has described the death as unfortunate and commiserated with the Command over the incident.

The late NDLEA officer is survived by his mother, four brothers, one sister and an expectant wife.
