Kano State Police Command has stated that since the coming of the present Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Ahmad Iliyasu to the state, the snatching of handsets has reduced.
The commissioner, who spoke to The Triumph in an exclusive interview through his Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said since the time he came few months ago, they have not received any information of handsets snatching.
“That I think is due to the cooperation the general public has been giving to us. We want them to continue in that direction,” he added.
According to the spokesperson, the commissioner, who is very hardworking, has achieved the feats through Operation Puff Adder and community policing among others.
“I want members of the public to continue in that direction. Police is your friend, when ever you see anything fishing, report to the next police station,” he advised.
He added that through the Operation Puff Adder, most Yandaba in the state have been arrested while others have either relocated to other areas in the country, adding that those arrested would soon be taken to court to face the wrath of the law
