The Grand Khadi of Kano State, Alhaji Tijjani Yusuf Yakasai has described the commissioning of Court of Appeal Kano Division as a good development and historic moment.

He commended the Ganduje administration and the people of the state over this initiative and development, saying that: “since the inception of Kano State in 1967, we have been clamouring for a division of the court to be established here in Kano, but unfortunately did not have its presence until during the era of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

“In fact, this is kudos to the government, judiciary and the people of Kano State,” he emphasised.

The Grand Khadi, who disclosed this during a press briefing in his office recently, noted that with the opening of Kano Division of the Court, the state has now the full compliments of state and federal courts, except of course the Supreme Court which still operates only from Abuja.

He added that this is a major boost to the administration of justice in Kano and Jigawa States, stressing that this will promote access to justice by bringing the court nearer to the people and to the members of the legal profession.

In his remark, the Chief Registrar High Court of Justice Kano State,

Jamilu Shehu Sulaiman had said that the opening of the court would definitely boost the administration of justice in the two states.
