Ganduje victories: Sen. Jibrin organises football competition

As part of the celebrations to mark the victory of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State, the Senator representing Kano North Senatorial District, Sen. Barau I. Jibrin has sponsored a youth football cup competition.
The competition, which started last Saturday at Kano Pillars Stadium, opened with friendly match between Dabo Babes and Garo United and ended in a goalless draw.
About 60 youth football clubs across the state were participating in the first edition of the 2020 Kano Governor’s Cup Competition known as 4 – 0 victories.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, the Senator said the competition was organised to mark the governor’s victories at the Supreme, Appeal and the Tribunal Courts, which all affirmed the governor as dually elected.
He described the victories of the governor as historic in the political circle of the state, saying Governor Ganduje has set four records that would continue to lift the image of All Progressives Party (APC) in the state and the country in general.
The Senator also assured of continuing with such sport competitions among youth groups to improve their social well-being, pointing out that sports has become an employment opportunity.
He said administration of Dr. Ganduje would continue to utilize the opportunity to create job opportunities to the teeming youth of the state particularly at the local community.
He further announced prizes of a bus to the winning team and motorcycles to the players and organizers in addition to other gifts.
In his remarks, the State Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Comrade Kabiru Ado Lakwaya, reiterated the commitment of Ganduje administration to develop sports at the grassroots, assuring of the ministry’s readiness to support and cooperate with individuals and organisations in that regards.
He described the sponsor of the competition as a loyalist to Governor Ganduje who is ready to sacrifice his wealth to lift the image of the state governor, commending him for intending to build five mini stadia in his Senatorial zone.
The commissioner then called on well meaning individuals and corporate bodies to support the government’s sport development initiatives.
At the ongoing competition, Chiromawa United in Garun Malam defeated Dabo Babes Academy, Owners Pillars FC wallop Golden Stars Sumaila, Zakirai Strikers Gabasawa beats UK Umar Kibiya by 5 – 3, Khaleed Boys of Gwale defeated Mailemo foundation by 2 – 0.
Also, Albasu United scored Bagwai Academy by 3 – 0.
