President Muhammadu Buhari has described Kano State governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as a responsible person who used the state resources to complete some projects started by previous governors just to ensure that ordinary citizens benefit from dividends of democracy.
He added that: “If it is someone, he will not complete them, but divert the money for personal benefits.”
President Buhari made these statements while addressing Nigerians residing in France during his visit to the country this week.
“I complimented the governor (Ganduje) for doing so much to the state because he invited me and I went to Kano and saw some projects started by his immediate predecessor, former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on education and healthcare, which a lot of emphasis should be made to ordinary Nigerian, the poor Nigerian, and Governor Ganduje completed them.
“If it were another person, he could have left the projects to divert the balance of the money to contest for Presidency instead of completing them. But Governor Ganduje completed them to their specification and now the ordinary citizens are benefitting from them (the projects).
“I think this is a very responsible of him (Ganduje) and I think he has done very well,” the President emphasised.
