By Abdulyassar Abdulhamid
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has re-appointed Engineer Idris Hassan as special adviser on automobile.
The appointment is with immediate effect, a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Malam Abba Anwar, said on Monday.
Ganduje said: “Your re-appointment is considered as a result of what you were able to achieve when you were occupying the office in my first tenure in office. You did well just as expected of you.”
He, however, recalled that Engineer Hassan was a force to be reckoned with when Youth empowerment was taking the centre stage during the first tenure of his administration, which he said would be consolidated upon in his second term in office.
He added: “I can still recall when we took our youth to Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN), Kaduna, for specialised training in automobile mechanics. You performed diligently well.”
The governor hoped that with Hassan’s re-appointment he would put in more energy and experience to help in taking youth to the next level, for their betterment and that of the state in general.
He directed: “As world is using modern technology to serve humanity, I am directing you to use modern technology in discharging your assigned responsibilities, in order to comply with the global best practice.”
