Ganduje pledges more support to security agencies

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State on Wednesday said there is a synergy as well as coordination amongs the security agencies in the state and the Kano State Government is providing an enabling environment for the security agencies to operate effectively and efficiently.

The governor was speaking at New Armed Forces Remembrance Day Site, Dotsa Village, Kumbotso Local Government Area, during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration.
According to the governor, the objective of the synergy is to ensure effective community policing across the state.
Ganduje said: “The issue of security is the responsibility of everybody. Very soon we are going to commission our control centre at Kano Command, Police Headquarters, which will enable the security agencies to surveillance all over the state and even beyond.
The governor added that the ceremony was to remember the fallen heroes, who fought to make sure the country remain one, adding that his administration will continue to give necessary support to the families of the fallen heroes.
He addd: “We will continue to provide the security agencies with vehicles, communication gadgets and allowances, among other assistance.
“This is one of the reasons Kano State is the most peaceful state in the country. There is no banditry, cattle rustling, and kidnapping, among others.

“Very soon we are going to hold a security summit so that the locals will be involved including the traditional and religious institutions.”
The governor, however, pledged more support to security forces in the state, stressing that his administration has an important agenda for the state security architecture.

A member of the legion, Yusuf Muhammed, who spoke to Triumph, decried that their entitlements have not been paid yet.
He said: “I served during the civil war and retired in 1982. I am calling on the authority concerned to please pay us our entitlements. We fought to make sure this country remain one, but unfortunately we are sufferring.”
At the ceremony, prayers were offered for the repose of souls of the fallen heroes.
