Ganduje inaugurates COVID-19 fundraising committee

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in continuation of instituting proactive measures to prevent and contain the outbreak of Corona Virus (Covid-19) on the state has inaugurate an important committee for fundraising against the disease.
According to a press statement by the state Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba said the event will hold at Africa House, Kano Government House, by 2pm.
The statement disclosed that Prof. Yahuza Bello, the Vice Chancellor, Bayero University, Kano (BUK) will serve as Chairman; Alhaji Tajuddeen Aminu Dantata as cochairman.
Other members are Sen. Barau I. Jibrin; Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, speaker, Abdul’aziz Garba Gafasa; Alhaji Yusuf Nabahani, Madakin Kano; Alhaji Salisu Sambajo, representative of Alhaji Aliko Dangote; Alhaji Karami Isyaka Rabi’u, representative ofAlhaji Abdussamad Isyaka Rabi’u; Alhaji Dalhatu Abubakar Al-Amsad,President KACCIMA; Alhaji Mudassir Idi Abubakar; Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, Kano APC Chairman and Alhaji Nasiru Aliko Koki.
Commissioner Garba revealed that himself and his counterparts of Local Government and that of Women Affairs and Religious Affairs; Sule Garo; Dr. Zahra’u Umar Muhammad; Dr. Muhammad Tahar Adamu respectively will also serve as members.
Among them, Malam Garba said are Hon. Lamin Sani, Kano ALGON Chairman; Prof. Abdu Salihi, Kano Integrity Group; Alhaji Haruna Zago; Ustaz Yusuf Makwarari; Sheikh Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan; Sheikh Haroun Ibn Sina; CAN President, Kano; Eze Ndi Igdo, Kano and Oba of Yoruba, Kano.
Others are Hajiya Aishatu Ja’afar, S.A. Social Intervention; representative of NEMA, Kano Office; Comr. Abbas Ibrahim, NUJ Kano Chairman; Barr. Abdul Adamu Fagge, NBA Kano Chairman; Comr. Ibrahim Adamu, Umbrella of Kano Concerned Civil Society Groups; representative of Red Cross, Kano; SP Abdulkadir Haruna Hadejia, Kano Police Command; Yusuf Dawaki; representative of Nigeria Civil Defence Corps; Kano State Command; representative of Kano State Vigilante Group and Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, Permanent Secretary, REPA who will serve as committee secretary.
