Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has commiserated with the families of late Professor Balarabe Maikaba, a professor of Mass Communication from the Faculty of Communications, Bayero University, Kano and that of late Malam Aminu Yahaya, former Commissioner of Education in the state.

Ganduje said: “The death of Professor Balarabe Maikaba came to us as very shocking and it is indeed a great lost not only to his family, but to the state, Bayero University, Kano, and the country in general.”
“Professor Maikaba’s death leaves a great vacuum in the academic circle. He was a great pillar in the Faculty of Communication, Bayero University, Kano. He was a compendium of media studies and research.”

He added: “It is therefore with deep sorrow that I am, on behalf of the government and people of Kano state, sending condolence message to the families, friends, Bayero University, Kano and the general public commiserating the shocking death of these gentlemen of repute and sound track record.
