Fire outbreak: Bunkure pays visit to Kano Poly school

Kano State Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure has paid an inspection visit to the School of Management Studies to ascertain the level of damage done by a fire outbreak recently in the school.
Dr. Bunkure, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Dahiru Addau along with some directors, expressed shock over the incident.
She directed the Rector of the Polytechnic to expedite action towards investigating the essence of the fire and the level of damages done, directing him further to submit the report to the ministry with immediate effect.
She sympathised with the management and students of the institution over the calamity, praying God to protect future occurrences.
Earlier, the Rector, Prof. Mukhtari Atiku Kurawa said the fire had razed a complete block of Cooperative Department of the school, adding that yet they could not ascertain the genesis of the fire.
He said a committee has been set up to investigate the inferno.
The incident occurred in the day light, but there was no report of casualty, according to a statement from Sunusi Abdullahi K/Na’isa, the Public Relations Officer of the ministry.
