Electorates commend LG boss in Yobe

The chairman, Caretaker Committee of Yusufari Local Government Area of Yobe State, Alhaji Ballama Budu has been commended for his transformation effort in the maintenance and development of the area into enviable model within the period of his assumption of office.

The commendation was made by a cross-section of the people of the area who spoke with The Triumph in Yusufari, the headquarters of the council.

According to them, since the chairman assumed office, several projects were initiated and executed to improve the lives and condition of the people of the area.

Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim Yusufari, who also spoke with our correspondent, said before the coming of Alhaji Budu, Yusufari town, the headquarters of the local government area, had only five boreholes and all were not functioning.

“But now, we have over 20 boreholes in Yusufari town alone and all of them are functioning, in addition to over 20 solar boreholes which were also provided across the local government area,” said Yusufari.

Alhaji Yusufari revealed that the chairman also provided 50 hand pumps, 65 cement wells, 30 solar lights, 160 work bulls and 30 ploughs in order to encourage farmers in the area to engage fully in farming activities.

Also speaking, Alhaji Madu Garba, a resident of Kumaganam, one of the major towns in the area said, the chairman constructed a dispensary, staff quarters, government lodge and emirate guest house.

 

“He is also working to complete the work of renovation and extension of the general hospital at Kumaganam.

“Alhaji Ballama Budu deserves commendation, because he provided the divided of democracy to the people of Yusufari local government area,” Garba said.

Alhaji Yusufari also urged the state governor, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni to re-appoint Alhaji Ballama Budu as chairman, caretaker committee of the local government again after finishing his tenure.

He called on the people of the area to continue to accord the chairman all necessary support and cooperation to effectively complete his tenure.
