Easter period: Lalong calls for sacrifice, love
| From Christiana Gokyo, Jos
Christians have been called upon to use Easter period for reflection on the virtues of sacrifice, love, tolerance and respect for sanctity of life which Jesus, the son of Marry, demonstrated through his death and resurrection.
Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, in his Easter message, described the period as a special event that marks the salvation of mankind through the suffering of Jesus Christ.
According to him, the unusual interruption in the celebration of Easter this year, which has seen many people confined to their homes and many others, battling for survival, called for more prayers and repentance.
Governor Lalong appealed to citizens to support the federal and state governments in making difficult decisions that may not be popular in an attempt to protect the lives of people.
