Dangote Foundation has donated N340 million for disbursement to poor families in Katsina State.
Already the state government has set up a committee for successful disbursement of the fund.
The chairperson of the committee, Mrs. Rayhanatu Lawal Zango said N10 miiloin would be allocated to each of the 34 local government councils.
Mrs. Zango, who led the committee members to the place of the Emir of Katsina further said each poor family would be given N10, 000 as assistance.
She explained that the committee will ensure that the money reaches the targeted beneficiaries to minimize poverty in the state.
Mrs. Zango, who is also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Land and Survey, said the visit was to seek Emir’s advice for the success of the committee’s assignment.
Responding, the Emir, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman directed the committee to involve traditional title holders for the exercise.
Alhaji Kabir called on the committee to ensure only poor families benefit from the assistance and avoid giving out double shares.
The Emir commended the foundation for the assistance, calling on wealthy individuals in the state to emulate the gesture.
