The House of representatives has approved a 15 billion Naira intervention fund for Kano state in order to tackle the Coronavirus pandemic in the state.

This was part of the amendment for the motion sponsored by the House leader Alhassan Ado Doguwa for an urgent intervention by the federal government to address the increasing spate of deaths recorded in Kano state.

Leading the debate, the leader who expressed worry over the rising spate of unexplained deaths in Kano state stressed the need for the Federal Government to increase the testing capacity especially in Kano state to enable them ascertain the causes of deaths recorded in the state

The House also summoned the Presidential Task force on COVID 19 to appear before it next week and brief it on the measures so far taken to control the pandemic.
