COVID-19: Gawuna advises people to desist from spreading false information

Kano State Deputy Governor Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has advised people in the State to shun the habit of spreading rumours on covid-19 which he said, undermines the collective effort of averting the spread of the disease.
Gawuna who doubled as the Chairman Taskforce Committee on Coronavirus was speaking to the newsmen on Monday, explained that such false information did not in any way contribute to the continuous success being recorded in the fight against the virus in the State.
Dr. Gawuna revealed that his committee and other Health personel are doing their possible best to bring an end of the pandemic, thus, there is almost need for people to give their necessary support and coorperation to address the situation instead of spreading false information.
” As it is well known, some of us most come out and sacrifice in discharging our professional duties to fight against the spread of the disease, so under any circumstances, we will continue to do the needful, and for those who became infected in this process, ours is to pray for their quick recovery ” Gawuna advised.
He announced that the State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje directed the Committee to do all what is needed with devine intervention of the Almighty Allah, to esure that the spread of the Coronavirus is put under control, stressing that Government on its own side would contunue to provide all the financial and medical supports at all times.
He further called on the General Public to continue to observe the advice given by the Health Professionals on Covid-19 especially with regards to regular hand washing, Stay at home policy and other directives given by the authorities to ensure full protection from the pandemic.
While praying for the quick recovery of those infected by the disease, the Deputy Governor thanked people of the State for their continuous unflinching support and commended members of the Committee including the Health personnel for their usual sacrifices.
The address of the State Chairman Taskforce Committee on coronavirus Nasiru Gawuna came shortly after the State received the National Chairman of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) DR. Chiekwe Ehekweazu who paid a working visit to Kano.
