COVID-19: Ganduje commends Kano people for observing fasting

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has commended people of the State and beyond for observing fasting last Monday, as he requested during the official inauguration of Fund Raising Committee on COVID-19, recently at Africa House, Government House, Kano.
He assured that the pandemic could be tamed, taking into cognisance, prayers and other measures that are taken in line with advice from health experts that: “With the Special Grace of Allah, the pandemic disease could be tamed, not only in Nigeria, but across the world.
“As we are taking all the necessary steps toward avoiding the spread of this deadly disease, our people are up and doing in praying hard for the State, country and the world over. You all deserve commendation for this,” he enthused.
He added: “All those who observed the fasting and those who could not afford to,” both, according to him, “deserve respect and appreciation from the State.” He thanked all on behalf of the good people of the State.
While praying for a safer and healthier society by the public, he also urged all to always observe hand-washing with soap and running water and advice given by health workers as well as the use of hand sanitizer, ”all in an effort to see to the end of this global threat called COVID-19,” he said.
On social distancing, Governor Ganduje urged that it be maintained, appreciating the commitment and patriotic posture of health workers and all other stakeholders in this gigantic effort, particularly the Task Force Committee on COVID-19.
