COVID-19: Emir of Fika calls for special prayers

The Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Chiefs, Dr. Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa has called on the people of the state to embark on special prayers against the spread of corona virus (COVID-19).
The monarch spoke through his Special Assistant on Media, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar in Potiskum.
“We’re calling on Muslims, Christians and other faithful to resort to rigorous special prayers seeking God’s intervention against the menace of the COVID-19 which has become a global concern.
“It is a threat to our life and economy of the entire world. The only way to get out of it is to submit ourselves to God Almighty for way out,” the Emir said.
He also advised for proactive measures against the spread of the virus which include proper hygiene and improved sanitation among others.
Dr. Idrissa, however, expressed satisfaction with the efforts of the state government by providing an isolation and intensive care unit (ICU) at the specialist and Yobe State Teaching Hospital, Damaturu for suspected patients of the disease.
