Court orders Kano Assembly to halt video review

A Kano State High Court, under the Honourable Justice A. T. Badamasi has ordered the state House of Assembly to halt the review of a video alleged to have shown the state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje collecting bribery from some contractors.

The order was given by the judge after he carefully run through an ex-parte application dated November 5, 2018 filed by the counsel for the plaintiff or applicant, Barr. Muhammad Zubair.

It was also accompanied by a 23-paragraph affidavit duly deposed to by Barr. Zubair.

It ordered that the respondents should be served with the order before the close of work of that day and the hearing of the matter should be an accelerated one, adding that the respondents were given four days to respond to the application.

“Parties should maintain status quo ante pending the hearing of the motion on notice,” it further ordered.

The matter was adjourned to Monday, November 12 this year for hearing.
