Corps members donate uniforms to 58 students
Charity Services and Gender Group of the National Youth Service Corps members serving in Karaye Local Government Area has donated sets of school uniforms and writing materials to 58 orphan students.
The benefiting schools include Karaye Special Primary School, Torankawa Primary School, Government Secondary School Yanmedi, Government Girls Arabic Secondary School Zango and Government Secondary School Karaye respectively.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at Karaye Emir’s palace, the chairperson of the group, Mrs. Adesoji Nihnlolawa said the gesture is part of the corps members’ Community Development Projects aimed at complementing the state government’s free and compulsory education policy.
Also speaking at the occasion, representative of the District Head of Karaye, Santuraki of Karaye, Alhaji Maikudi Aminu described the initiative as commendable.
Alhaji Aminu maintained that the measures would encourage the students in their educational pursue, advising other oriented groups in the society to emulate the group, said HarunaGunduwawa, the Information Officer of the Emirate.
