Coronavirus pandemic: CAMPAN commends journalists
From Christiana Gokyo, Jos
Following the recent pandemic of COVID-19, the Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CAMPAN), Jos Archdiocese has recently observed the World Communication Day with the celebration of the holy mass, visitation to orphanage centers and IDP camps and other lined up activities.
But they were constrained this year due to the restrictions of physical interactions occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, they were inspired by the Papal message to carry out the work of communication with profound faith, more vigor and heartfelt enthusiasm.
The Jos CAMPAN extended its heartfelt felicitation to Bishop Matthew Ishaya Audu on his installation as the new Catholic Archbishop of Jos and the Metropolitan of Jos Ecclesiastical Province.
The association equally extended such commendation to the state governor, Mr. Simon Bako Lalong for responding positively to curtail the spread of the disease in the state.
“We equally appreciate the response and measures put in place by the Christians community in the state to provide, protect and guide its followers amidst this global pandemic.
“Special commendation also goes to the frontline workers, most especially our colleagues who are engaged on various media activities to sensitize the general public on the CIVID-19 pandemic,” the statement ended.
