Commissioner explains 7-point agenda to Emir Bayero

Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has attributed the lack of complying with Islamic injunctions as the major problems causing indiscipline among citizens.
The Emir who received the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad Umar at his palace on a courtesy visit, cited that some of the parties organised to celebrate marriage unions go contrary to Islamic injunctions.
He stressed that if the society would abide by the teaching of Islam regarding discipline, divorce would be minimised among couples.
Emir Bayero then hailed the commitment being exhibited by the Ministry to empower women and the less-privileged in the society.
Earlier, the Commissioner had told the Emir that the Ministry had initiated a seven-point agenda for improving the welfare of the citizens, particularly women and children.
She explained that the agenda include minimising divorce, sensitising women on self-reliance, supporting less-privileged, fighting drug abuse and renovating Kiru Reform Institute.
