” Clean Nigeria – use the Toilet” Campaign: Ganduje lauds FG

Kano State Governor,Dr.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has recommended the effort of Federal Government for introducing the policy of ending Open defecation in the country.
The Governor gave the recommendation while answering questions from the Pressmen after the National Launching and Flag-Off of CLEAN NIGERIA USE THE TOILET Campaign at the Eagle Square in Abuja, recently.
The governor who was represented by his Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna said the initiative would mobilize the society to imbibe the culture of safe and sustainable sanitation management through behavioural change communication.
He further said that What the Federal Government is a transformational Sanitation agenda to fast track the collaboration with States in the country in enhancing Sanitation and hygiene promotion through infrastructural development in rural communities.
The governor added that Kano State has already gone far than other states in implementing the Water Sanitation and Hygiene Programme through creation of WASH Department at its Ministry for Local Government and also strengthens it with similar departments across the 44 local government areas of the State.
He then assures of the Kano State Government’s commitment to support the Federal Government’s effort of achieving its goal of ending Open defecation by 2025 in the country.
