Church holds Mass to honour Ganaka



The Catholic Archbishop Dio­cese of Jos has celebrated a memorial Mass in honour of the first Archbishop of Jos, late Arch­bishop Gabriel G Ganaka who died in 1999.

The memorial Mass was held at the new Devine Mercy Cathedral un­der construction at Kwang Close to Lamingo in Jos North Local Govern­ment Area of Plateau State recently.

Holding the event at the venue was to ask for God’s help and support for the continuation of this project.

Speaking to journalists after the Mass, the Catholic Archbishop of Jos, Mr. Ignatius Kaigama described the project as huge project.

“So the progress of this work from the sub-structure to this present level is the sweat of all the parishioners of our Jos Archdiocese, no help from outside, from foreign body,” he noted.

According to him, they have done extremely well and the petty cash they gathered gave them an opportunity amounts to continue to support the project this to its current level.

He said the progress of the project was the sweat of all the parishioners of the Church.
