Birnin Kudu purchases N2.5m land for cemetery

In an attempt to address the shortage of cemeteries in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa state, the Council has purchased farmlands worth N2.5million and distributed them to people of the area for conversion to grave yards .
The Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Muhammad Wada Idris announced this in a statement signed by his Information Officer, Nasiru Yusuf Birnin Kudu a copy which was made available to The Triumph in Dutse.
He said that the lands were distributed to Kankare, Kafin Gana and
Maichediya wards in recognition of the fact that their grave yards are filled to capacity hence, the need for additional ones.
Handing over the certificates of the lands to their community leaders, the Chairman warned them to desist from diverting the land for the purposes they were procured.
In another development, properties worth thousands of Naira have been destroyed by the fire incident at Goburawa viilage in the area.
Alhaji Idris who paid a sympathy visit to the village, counselled the victims to regard the inferno as destiny from God.
He prayed to God to guard against future occurrence and pledged that his Council will soon assist them with relief materials as well as to report the matter to the state government for further assistance.
