Bichi Emir to own subjects: Make environmental sanitation your watch words

In order to avoid erosion and collapse of buildings, the Emir of Bichi in Kano State, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has called on the people of the Emirate to make environmental sanitation their watch words by doing everything possible to evacuate refuse in their drainages. 

The Emir said the act would help in reducing the gravity of the disaster in their various communities.

Revealing this at a graduation ceremony of Ridwan Mai ‘Yanmakaranta Islamic and Primary School, Kanawa held in Bichi recently, the Emir also tasked parents on the need to put more priority to both Islamic and Western education of their wards.

He told them that the importance of doing so could not be overemphasised, enjoining the students to continue to seek knowledge for their future careers.

He urged both parents and teachers to ensure proper monitoring of their children at schools, adding that the gesture would enhance qualitative education among their wards.

He then thanked all those who contributed towards the success of the occasion.

In a related development, Mass Communication Students Association of Bayero University, Kano has been encouraged to use the profession in the promotion of humanitarian development especially in the area of education, enlightenment and entertainment, warning it against any bias.

The Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero gave the reminder while receiving members of the association at his palace recently.

Alhaji Bayero, who studied journalism, also reminded the association on the significance of the profession to societal development.

On their parts, the leaders of the delegation, Dr. Saminu Umar and Abbas Umar said they were at the palace to intimate the Emir about the association and pay homage to him.

They extended the greeting of the Head of Department of Mass Communication of Bayero University, Kano, Malam Haruna Ismail, who was also willing to be at the palace but was unable due to some activities beyond him, soliciting the Emir to chair their special programme coming up soon.
