Emir of Bade, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Suleiman III, has urged Muslims and Christians to give full support and cooperation to government in curtailing the spread of coronavirus.

The Deputy Chairman of Yobe State Council of Chiefs, Emir of Bade, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Suleiman III, has urged Muslims and Christians to give full support and cooperation to government in curtailing the spread of coronavirus.
Speaking with some selected journalists in his palace in Gashua, the Emir said that the pace at which the disease was spreading calls for collaboration and unity among citizens.
“We shall comply fully with the directives of the state authorities in curbing the spread of the virus.
“This will definitely affect our faith based practices…
“We immediately call on you dear people to cooperate maximally with the relevant government agencies in their efforts and measures towards the welfare of the citizenry in the face of this killer disease.
“We ask of all our Muslims and Christians in the state to comply with the government directives.
“I urge communities to the need to observe social distance of one meter or three feet,” the Emir said.
He called on the people of the state to continue giving their support and cooperation to the state governor, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni in order to move the state forward.
The Emir added: “Nothing is permanent in this world, things will come and past, I want to call on my people to stand before God, we will continue to pray, may Allah continue to protect us from this pandemic.”
He also commended Governor Buni for his quick response for establishment of an isolation centre of covid-19 in the state, as well as shutting down schools and all gatherings including political activities.
