AIED commends Kiru for introducing electronic teaching

The Arabic and Islamic Education Department (AIED) of the Kano State Ministry of Education has commended the commissioner of the ministry, Malam Muhammad Sunusi Sa’idu Kiru for introducing teaching of students at home through television and radio to avoid redundancy of students following the closure of schools in the state due coronavirus.
The chairman, AIED Coordinating Committee of the Teaching Programme, Malam Abubakar T. Abdulrahman made the commendation during a visit to the Triumph Publishing Company Limited, on Tuesday.
He said the visit was intended to solicit support of the company to enlighten parents on the need to utilise the teaching method through television and radio to students during holiday.
He said the commissioner has introduced the programme in order to assist the students at senior secondary classes particularly those preparing for final year examination to continue their studies at home without obstacles.
He said the department, through the committee, has made adequate arrangement for the programme to ensure the students have benefitted from it.
According to him, already Arabic and Qur’anic lessons have started at the Abubakar Rimi Television with two slots every day.
The coordinator further said the radio programme would soon start as already preparation reached advance stage with adequate teaching material, adding that it would assist the students to maintain the learning career during the holiday, adding that it would reduce redundancy.
He advised parents to encourage their children in viewing and listening to the programmes as well as to help them in understanding the lesson.
