Adamawa LG election scheduled for November

Arrangement has been concluded for the conduct of all the 21 local government council elections in Adamawa State.

 

The election is scheduled for November this year but the tentative date is expected to be announced in due course.

 

This is contained in a statement signed by the Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Alhaji Isa Shetima and counter signed by the Director of Press and Communications Government House Yola, Mr. Solomon Kumangar which was made available to The Triumph in Yola.

 

The statement said: “It is hereby notified to the general public to be informed that elections will be conducted throughout the 21 local government areas in the state on November 2019.”

 

According to the statement, registered political parties wishing to field candidates were directed to embark on electioneering campaigns as from last Wednesday.

 

It added: “Similarly, primaries elections are to be conducted from August 31 to September 7, while the names of successful aspirants shall be submitted to the commission (ADSIEC) on or before October 10, 2019 for further actions necessary.”

 

It would be recalled that about a week ago, 21 local government areas transition committee chairmen were inaugurated by the state government.
