The Director of Pharmaceutical Service of Kano State Hospitals Management Board, Pharm. Ghali Sule has urged medicine vendors to always respect and abide by the laid down guidelines governing medicine business in the state.
Pharm. Sule made the plea while receiving the newly elected leaders of the Association of Kano Patent Medicine Vendors in Kano metropolis on Wednesday.
He said health matters are a collaborative responsibility between government and private sector with aim to salvage lives of the people as government alone could not bear its total burden due to its vastness.
Pharm. Ghali further described the health sector as not a one-sided affair, adding that it remains a composition of various professionals whose services are of great importance, which could never be ignored in steering the affairs of the teeming populace that would ultimately pave way for having a healthier nation.
Earlier, the newly elected chairman of the association, Malam Muhammad Nura Abubakar, said they were at the board to introduce themselves and to tender their unalloyed loyalty to the state government in its unwavering efforts of progressing health sector to greater heights.
Abubakar enjoined their members to conform to the standard guidelines laid down by the government for medicine business as it is the simpler way of sanitizing and freeing the business against bad eggs.
The chairman assured members that if this noble objective is achieved, undoubtedly the new leadership would not take a softer line in protecting and safeguarding their interests.
He then thanked the Ganduje administration for allowing them to conduct their business without hindrance and intimidation, assuring that they are ready to accept meaningful advices from the government and all stakeholders, pledging their total support and allegiance should the need arises.
