From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu
The South Senatorial zone is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) strong hold in Yobe State with federal lawmakers and a member of the state House of Assembly winning in the 2015 general elections despite the Buhari factor that hit many states in Northern part of the nation.
Speaking to journalists in Damaturu, the secretary Youth Marketers Alliance (YOMA), Abdulhamid Shuaibu A, described the emergence of Ibrahim Muhammad Bomai, a former director at FCTA, as a blessing from God and an end of the road for PDP in the state.
He disclosed that for years, people of Yobe South and Yobe State at large were eager to see such long awaited time in order to pay him back with what he has done to the society.
According to him, Bomai offers local and foreign scholarship for the youths to further their studies, financial assistance to patients admitted in the hospitals and food items distributions to less privileged for decades among others.
“We called him to service. When he accepted to offer self, were multitudes of people decamping from other political parties to join APC that was what got PDP to its knee in Yobe South today.
“I will like to assure you that APC will reclaim her seats from PDP in 2019 because they failed to transformation after we gave them a trial. They have failed at all sectors they are talking about,” he stated.
“We voted PDP in 2015 to test their leadership style in Yobe South but it is a regrettable mistake that will never be repeated. We must change our style to a person that will move our Senatorial District forward.
“In the coming election, we must make an analogy to bring a right leader who will lead for the interest of the people.
“We need someone who will support our youths by offering them scholarship, empowering them with sufficient vocational training that will enable them to be self reliant,” he added.
He concluded that their support for Bomai was a unanimous decision taken in order to rescue their future, adding that they would keep on mobilising people in all nook and cranny to vote for APC in the forthcoming election.
