Bauchi State Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar has received Islamic scholars from Morocco, Algeria, United States of America, Malaysia and Senegal as he prayed for peace and stability of the country.
Receiving the scholars under the leadership of Grand Khalifa of Tijjaniyya Sheikh Muhammadul Kabir at the Ramat House Bauchi, Governor Abubakar thanked the delegation for the visit and called on the scholars and Nigerians to continue to pray for peace and stability in Bauchi and the country at large.
He said since he assumed duty as the State Governor he has been giving equal treatment to all religions in the state and pledged that government would continue to promote religious tolerance among its citizens.
Governor Abubakar said the state has recorded remarkable success in different Qur’anic recitation competitions both in Bauchi, the country and abroad and asked the scholars to pray for him and the leadership of the country to succeed.
Speaking earlier, Sheikh Mahiy Nyass from Senegal commended the governor for exhibiting exemplary leadership style and expressed their appreciation for the warm reception accorded them.
