200 hawkers empowered in Dala

Over 204 traffic and street hawkers have been empow­ered in Dala Local Govern­ment Area of Kano State.

The state Commissioner of Infor­mation, Comrade Muhammadu Garba disclosed this at a ceremony to mark distribution of N20, 000 to each of the beneficiaries in the area.

The commissioner used the occa­sion to reaffirm the commitment of the state government towards youths and women empowerment in order to make them more self-sustained in the society.

The commissioner, who was rep­resented by Malam Bashir Barwa, disclosed that various empowerment programmes to enhance skills in youths and women were underway by the Ganduje-led administration.

Also speaking, the representative of the Commissioner of Local Govern­ment, the Director of Inspection at the ministry, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Kabara advised youths in the area to always conduct themselves in a decent manner, urging them to use the capital donated judiciously.

On his part, the chairman of the local government area, Comrade Ali Ibrahim Yantandu appealed to the peo­ple of the area to always rally round the Ganduje administration for more dividends of democracy to come their ways.
