Over 204 traffic and street hawkers have been empowered in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State.
The state Commissioner of Information, Comrade Muhammadu Garba disclosed this at a ceremony to mark distribution of N20, 000 to each of the beneficiaries in the area.
The commissioner used the occasion to reaffirm the commitment of the state government towards youths and women empowerment in order to make them more self-sustained in the society.
The commissioner, who was represented by Malam Bashir Barwa, disclosed that various empowerment programmes to enhance skills in youths and women were underway by the Ganduje-led administration.
Also speaking, the representative of the Commissioner of Local Government, the Director of Inspection at the ministry, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Kabara advised youths in the area to always conduct themselves in a decent manner, urging them to use the capital donated judiciously.
On his part, the chairman of the local government area, Comrade Ali Ibrahim Yantandu appealed to the people of the area to always rally round the Ganduje administration for more dividends of democracy to come their ways.
